1.Teacher Valentine’s Day Gifts
If 2020 taught us anything, it is the value of our teachers. Whether your children are learning virtually or in person, I can’t think of a better time to shower teachers with a little extra love than for Valentine’s Day!
My teacher friends ask for one thing: No More Mugs! It makes me laugh, but it’s true! When in doubt it’s so easy to purchase a mug from Homegoods toss in a Starbucks gift card and call it a day! There has to be a more thoughtful way to say thank you, and there is! It’s Lucy’s wraps!
I went to the dollar store and purchased stemless wine glasses (I don’t know a teacher turning down wine, just saying.) I decided to split up a box of three wraps into three separate gifts for three different teachers. I slid a glass into a constructed vase wrap, added some Trader Joe’s flowers and voila! What I love about these wraps, especially for teachers, is that after the flowers are spent, they make the prettiest pen holders for a teacher’s desk.
I made three Valentine’s Day gifts for the boy’s teachers for under $10 each. Affordable and adorable!
2. Toddler Mom’s Deserve Nice Things
It’s a sad truth that a child-safe home is not always a pretty home. My two little boys, Hayes (3) and Wells (2) play hard and during Covid-19 our time outside of the home has been limited. I often find myself saying, “this is why we can’t have nice things” when a flying ball knocks over a piece of pretty decor and I have no choice but to move it to the top of our china cabinet for safety. Fortunately, Lucy saves the day yet again! I placed an acrylic stemless wine glass inside of her paper wraps and I no longer need to worry about expensive glass vases breaking and creating hazards for bare little toes in my living room.
Interested in the simplest DIY? All you need is glue dots or a hot glue gun and Lucy’s smallest vase wrap turns into an elegant yet safe topper for your coffee table book stack!
3. I Don’t Have The Space
Tell me this isn’t the case for you, too. You have a closet or shelf that is designated for clunky, oddly shaped vases. I think we all do. We grab the one in the front because it’s a cluttered space and pulling everything out to look at options is a hassle. I just don’t have the space for one more vase. I live in a townhouse and I need easy, organized storage solutions to keep life simple.
Lucy’s vase wraps store perfectly in a shoe-sized storage container I found at Target. I simply placed clear elastic hair ties on the ends of each wrap and in they went. I have fifteen vase wraps in this container and I could easily fit another thirty. I store these in my Gifting Drawer. A little hack I’ve been using for years now that makes life easy when I need thoughtful gifts on the fly.
