23 Favorite Holiday Books for Kids

Reading with my children is one of our favorite things to do. We try to sit down and read together at least once a day, typically at bedtime. I also like to read with the boys anytime they’re a little extra rowdy and need to calm down or when they’re not feeling well. The benefits of reading with your children are well-known and most of all, it’s an enjoyable and wonderful way to spend time together. One of my kids’ favorite type of books are seasonal and holiday books. It’s so fun to read stories based on holiday themes, whether it’s Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter or another special day. In this post I’m going to share 23 favorite holiday books for kids that my family owns and loves. These Christmas books also make wonderful holiday gifts for kids!

Christmas Books for Kids

Christmastime with kids is truly magical. I love watching the joy of the season through their eyes and sharing all of our holiday traditions together. One of these traditions includes gifting our boys a new holiday book each Christmas. Sometimes we will gift this on Christmas Eve night along with pajamas. Other years we will gift the holiday book on December 1st so that they can enjoy reading it the entire season. I think holiday books make an excellent gift for any kids on your list, whether you’re shopping for nieces and nephews, grandchildren or your own children. Reading these books together has become part of the Christmas magic in our home. Over the years we’ve added quite a few books to our Christmas library. I’m excited to share my 23 favorite holiday books for kids in hopes that they can bring joy to some of your homes as well!
