Holidays with the Hudkins’!

Well, I can officially toddler-chase in these sandals. Mom goals!

We were grateful to be welcomed at Inverness Brewing a few weeks back to take our holiday Christmas card photos. The 100-acre historic Monkton farm, is home to 50 cattle, 600 thriving hop plants, seasonal crops and Stout the cat. We showed up on a brisk Saturday morning and something about the light through the trees made this very quickly the perfect spot to shoot. The boys are wearing outfits from one of my very favorite children's brands. They are New England based and keep Hayes and Wells warm as the temps lower this time of year. Their red sweaters are itch free and soft as can be. Also, three of the four of us are wearing shoes from Target. I an a big supporter of Target footwear for the boys and I just couldn't say no to these comfortable sandals. Click this link to shop our outfits.

I can't wait to receive our cards from Brake Ink and send them out to our family and friends. We selected the red striped ribbon holiday photo cards and given the colors we are wearing I know they will turn out so well. Elizabeth, owner of Brake Ink, is a dream to work with and makes the entire process enjoyable. If you are interested in shopping at Brake Ink this holiday season you can use code PREPPYKIDS and receive 25 free gift cards with your purchase of $150+. If you've never sent holiday cards, maybe this is the year to start. There are so many friends and family we haven't seen in ages due to Covid-19. Knowing that things are starting to shut down again with the holidays around the corner does get me a bit choked up, but at least we can send love from afar and they'll know they are in our hearts.

There is so much uncertainty at these times and as a mom, trying to navigate in cloudy, mucky waters is a challenge. I don't think any of us know with 100% certainly what is ok, and what is not. Where do we step when we can't see where we'll land? So, we shuffle a little this way and a little that way in this space of unknowing. Fear of reaction. Fear of contraction. Life's great balancing act. It's ok if we don't get it exactly right.

For today, I am grateful for a roof over my head and the warm slippers on my feet. My children are fed and healthy and singing The Elmo Slide. And today, that is more than enough.

Stay well, friends.

Meredith
