An Affordable Console: Three Ways

Are you a rattan lover? Me too! But what I am not such a fan of are the prices of these natural pieces. For example, when I was shopping for my home recently I Googled “Rattan Console”…

Regularly $954 but on sale for $630

I could rattle of several more examples, but I bet you get my point. In fact, maybe you’ve googled yourself!

YAY! Way better price!

Then I happened across the most beautiful, affordable 40” console. Prices do fluctuate on this site but I keep checking and this table remains under $300! I was so excited when it landed on my porch that I tore the box right open on the front yard. My neighbors can confirm.

And it was PERFECT! The console is so lightweight it can be easily moved outdoors for al fresco dining and entertaining. It is sturdy and would also make a fabulous bar. The weave of the rattan is so fine and tight that you could easily place wine glasses or other fragile items without them becoming unbalanced. Ours has found it’s place in our living room right under my favorite painting.

To show how versatile the table is, I decided to style it three ways! Brunch anyone? Use this console as an easy sideboard to serve from, keeping your dining table tidy and uncluttered.

Next, I wanted to see what it would look like if I styled it into a golf-themed bourbon and whiskey bar for Mike! He loved it! He has held onto all of his old scorecards and I love being able to display them for him. I also realized, OMG, we have a lot of bourbon and whiskey! No one will be thirsty at our house.

This console table does all! My boys take their stuffed animals and put them to sleep in their “bunk beds.” Yes, still talking about the table. Goofy kids.

Safe to say it is a favorite of all four Hudkins family members.
