From the overall cozy feel autumn brings, to the smell of pumpkin bread baking in the oven and the sight of fall decor taking over all the little nooks and crannies of your home—what’s not to love about fall? I say this with every changing season, but I’ll say it again, how has this year flown by so quickly? We are more than halfway through August which means fall is upon us. School is starting and life is finding a new rhythm again. Before you know it, it will be time for Friday night football games, bonfires, fall festivals and families gathering together for Thanksgiving. With the change of seasons comes a change in one’s wardrobe. I am sad to tuck away my swimsuits, summer dresses, sandals and breezy outfits, but I will admit that I am so looking forward to crisp autumn air and the chunky sweaters, boots and layered looks that come with it.

There is nothing quite like a cozy sweater on a chilly fall day. One thing I love about sweaters is how you can style them so many different ways. You can wear them with your favorite pair of jeans or leggings or you can pair a sweater with a skirt or style it over a dress. To elevate the entire look of your outfit you can even drape a sweater over your shoulders during the day and then put it on at night when it gets chilly. Fall can be a hard season to dress for because the weather can vary drastically from morning to night, so I included heavier sweaters in this roundup as well as lightweight long-sleeve shirts and blouses. Purses have a way of tying an entire outfit together while also being so very functional. When deciding which size purse you need for an outfit, consider where you are going. If you are dressing up for a special occasion then I would choose a small compact purse or clutch. A smaller purse or clutch won’t take away from your outfit and chances are it will be able to easily carry everything you need like your phone, lipstick and cards. For a more casual outfit and for everyday use, I use a larger purse like this woven bag (I have it in brown) because it is able to hold all things a mom could ever need.
